| Bargain, should we purchase as an asset for the Association. Is there any history behind it? |

| If we can afford it we should buy it or ask for donations towards the cost.
Can we put a first refusal registration of interest in?

| I would find out if it's an original or mass produced first and wouldn't go down the donations route after a certain hitch with other items bought by donations and resulting ownership !
I'm not so sure we should buy anything that seems to bear Intrepid on it ?
This looks like it was made on an embroidery machine and brand new.........It's not already down for an exhibition in the Dockyard for Navy Days is it ? |

| We have access to the ships bell and some other memorabillia this could also task as a centre peice for re-unions in the future.
Or have pride of place in a place of worship or keep it for when the next Intrepid comes along and donate.

| all good points russ but on looking at it its not that brilliant if you see how the motto is squashed in on the scroll, and other detail is not brill either but it may look different to the eye instead of in a pic and behind glass. |

| Agree with you on that one Rab.
I don't find it particularly attractive but I suppose it can be seen in different lights (maybe deadlight). Not something I'd have thought that Jack sat and done during the middlewatch or on a make and mend. |

| Yep.............Got too many dodgy angles for my liking, surprised it was in an antique shop ! It looks like it's just been made - not for me sorry, prefer the natural rounded badges and logo's as they were on the ship. |

| If its the antique shop in pompey dockyard the place is notriously overpriced. The have a number of rc model boats that are probably 3x the price they would go for in the rc community. And they arent very good at that either!!

| It looked to be well made to me but I only spent a few secs looking at it. I was having coffee in the coffee shop that is part or next the the antique shop. I noticed it out the corner of my eye. I might be over that way next week so would be more than happy to have another look. There was a few notes about it but didnt really have time to make an note. |
